Hawkins and Johnson Top Boat at Lake Lanier

Tim Hawkins and Jason Johnson topped 160 boats in the third No Entry Fee Gambler Lures Tournament on Lake Lanier. Tim and Jason weighed in 21.76 to edge out 2nd place finishers Tommy Chumley and Curtis Roper, 19.5. Third place was an impressive 19.14 weighed in by Clarke Witter and Dean Sigmon. Check out the full results

Tim and Jason fished Gambler Aces rigged on the Gambler Double Collar Ball Jig. Second and Third place fished Gambler Sweebo Worms rigged on Giggy Heads in 20 foot to catch their limits. Stacey Turner and Josh Wilson took home big fish honors with a 7.78 large mouth caught on a Gambler Ninja Spin Spinnerbait.

The top three boats all weighed in spotted bass. Stacey and Josh were the highest finishing boat with largemouth. Seems the spotted bass ruled the winning bags this year. A slight cold front and rain set back the largemouth spawn slightly and most of the largemouth weights seemed to be in the 11 - 12 pound range while the majority of the top boats targeting spotted bass.
